We recently received an anonymous suggestion about extra duty jobs within the agency. The writer indicates that there are full time officers complaining that they are not being given first choice over reserve officer when it comes to signing up for extra duty jobs or special events. Overtime Compensation Response from Deputy Chief Nickalson
Good Afternoon:
I received a note today regarding compensation for overtime. Here goes:
To Whom it May Concern:
I was trying to get some clarification on overtime.
It seems that for each team, overtime is different. On some teams if you go to court not on your regular court date or you go to school you MUST burn your time. On other teams you get paid OT for anything that you do or work outside your regular shift.
Is the decision up to your team supervisor as they see fit or should everyone in the department do it the same way?
